Used in the construction of tactile warning strips, tactile studs and dots warn visually impaired or blind people of nearby hazards, making it easier for them to get around. Found both indoors and outdoors, these tactile warning strips and their components must comply with current legislation.

Legislation
Pursuant to Appendix 7 of the decree of 8 December 2014, amended by Article 18 of the decree of 28 April 2017, the following provisions apply:
“The purpose of a tactile warning strip is to alert visually impaired persons through tactile and visual detection.”
They may be installed in the exterior areas of establishments open to the public and in facilities open to the public.
A tactile warning strip has the following characteristics:
- it consists of evenly spaced studs;
- it is wide enough to be detected by a white cane and cannot be stepped over by pedestrians;
- it contrasts visually with its immediate surroundings;
- it is non-slip;
- it does not cause any inconvenience to people with mobility difficulties;
- it is placed at a distance from the danger zone corresponding to the braking distance.”
Dimensions, materials, colours
With a diameter of 25 mm and a height of 5 mm, the stud and the tactile paving block differ in terms of the stud’s shaft. La Frappe Ardennaise offers a standard model with an M10 threaded shaft, the length of which can vary according to your requirements or installation constraints.
We also offer different materials such as 316Cu stainless steel, which has excellent resistance to road salt, atmospheric pollution and coastal installations, as well as 304Cu stainless steel, brass, copper and aluminium.
We can also carry out surface treatment according to your needs.

Depending on your requirements, we manufacture the nail shank with or without threading.
Different head designs
We innovate in design by offering you different head designs for improved styling.
All this, of course, while maintaining the same options in terms of dimensions, materials and colours.

Installation plates
Installation plates are drilling templates used when installing tactile studs or studs. Without having to measure, they allow the studs to be distributed in accordance with standard NFP 98351.
Made of 304L stainless steel or bichromated zinc-plated steel, they measure 525 mm wide by 600 mm long. With a thickness of 3 mm, they are equipped with a handle on each side for lifting and manoeuvring.

The plates can be joined together because their construction provides continuity in the position of the holes.
